Inpatient Rehabilitation

Our Rehabilitation Unit is a comprehensive inpatient program designed to help persons adjust their lifestyles and accept physical limits caused by strokes, amputation, fractures and other limiting medical conditions. The unit’s mission is to help each patient regain, to the greatest degree possible, his or her ability to function and be independent and self-sufficient. The staff is committed to providing a complete range of services using an interdisciplinary team that includes the patient, family, caregivers and significant others. Benefiting from these services are persons who are dealing with the effects of:

  • Stroke
  • Orthopedic conditions
  • Arthritis
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Brain injury
  • Amputation
  • Neuromuscular disorders

We are DNV accredited, and our physicians, nursing staff and therapists are prepared to provide quality patient care management. For more information about the Glenwood Rehabilitation Unit, call 318-329-3663.

About the Rehabilitation Center

The Center offers comfortable semi-private suites. The suites are attractively decorated with windows in each room overlooking the grounds. Your personal space is equipped with your own closet and drawers, along with your own personal telephone and television. You may give your telephone number to your family and friends so they can call you directly, without going through the Switchboard. To make a local call, dial 9, followed by the phone number.

Since the primary goal of rehabilitation is to help you gain maximum independence in your daily life, we focus a good deal of attention helping with your transition back to your home. We have specifically designed a suite where you can learn and practice daily living activities. We also take recreational day-trips to facilitate your return to the community. We will introduce you to outpatient rehab programs, community resources and facilities, enabling you to make a smooth transition back to your home.
