For Very Special Deliveries
At Glenwood Regional Medical Center, we’ve been bringing new life into the world for more than 50 years. To date, nearly 50,000 babies have been born at our hospital.

There’s a reason that so many families choose us for this all-important event. It’s because we view each new life as a miracle to celebrate, and our experienced team of doctors, nurses and other professionals are dedicated to helping your baby get the best possible start. Our dedicated Women’s and Children’s Pavilion, which houses our Maternity Services, is specially designed for the highest level of comfort and security for you, your baby and your family.

Our beautiful and state-of-the-art birthing center includes:

  • Private labor and delivery suites
  • Private post-partum rooms
  • Level II NICU
  • Sleep sofa for significant other

Labor, Delivery and Recovery
For the birth of your baby, we’ve prepared a private, spacious, Labor, Delivery and Recovery (LDR) suite. With an adjustable bed, and sofa sleeper for your significant other, our suites are designed to increase your comfort during labor. Each suite is also fully equipped to help ensure a safe delivery and outstanding medical care for the first hours of your baby’s life.

After your baby is born, you have had time to recover, and we know that your baby is doing well, you will move to another private room in our Women’s Pavilion.

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Glenwood also offers the services of the area’s finest Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), including highly trained neonatal physician specialists, nurse practitioners and nursing staff. You can have peace of mind in knowing that the NICU is located right down the hall, should complications arise during delivery.

We encourage mothers to keep their new babies in their rooms as much as possible. Rooming in gives families time to bond and helps new parents learn how to care for their infant with the professional assistance of our nursing staff.

We offer lactation assistance for mothers who choose to breastfeed. All our nurses are trained in lactation and can help you learn the best techniques for feeding your baby and how to be sure your baby is getting enough milk. At Glenwood Regional Medical Center, we know how important it is for your child to receive the best care available. That’s why you can depend on our pediatric specialists to provide medical expertise with the high quality care you expect from Glenwood. From emergency care to inpatient care, our pediatric staff, facilities and services are all oriented toward meeting the unique needs of children.

Our Pediatric Center
Glenwood’s 13-bed Pediatric unit, conveniently located in our Women’s and Children’s Pavilion, cares for inpatients, ambulatory surgical patients, and short-stay patients with a wide range of medical conditions. It is designed especially for the care and comfort of children, from newborn through adolescence. We understand how stressful a hospital stay can be for children and their parents. We’ve added extra features with comfort in mind like large and comfortable pediatric rooms, extra large chairs for sleeping parents, guest trays for parents, a Hostess Program is available for children with special nutrition needs and for children who want a snack outside the regularly scheduled dining times, a children’s playroom with two large aquariums, and VCRs in every room - with a choice of entertainment and education videos.

For the health and well being of our youngest patients, we ask that a parent or guardian be with children who are under the age of 13 at all times.
