Cardiac Rehab and Wellness
Upon transfer to the Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit, physicians may place an order for cardiac rehabilitation. A registered nurse from Glenwood’s Cardiac Rehabilitation staff initiates the first visit, considered Phase One. During this time, patients and family members are provided instruction on heart disease and a monitored exercise program begins. Participants continue through Phases II, III and IV of cardiac rehabilitation, which are outpatient programs designed not only to better the patient’s health, but also to prevent recurrences of the original illness.

Diabetes Management Program
Glenwood Regional Medical Center's Diabetes Management Program addresses the educational aspects of treating diabetes. The staff utilizes medical, dietary and educational approaches to help patients effectively manage their disease. Self management education is an essential component of diabetes care. Patients attending the Diabetes Management Program at Glenwood are taught self-care skills to provide better management of their diabetes treatment regimen.
